Remedy Law are delighted to have secured a maximum award of £100,000 for a survivor of abuse who sought assistance for their Scotland Redress application. Additionally, the individual received 100% of their compensation with no deductions.
Scotland’s Redress Scheme is for survivors of historical child abuse in care in Scotland.
It has been set up to recognise and acknowledge what happened, and the harm this abuse caused. The scheme covers:
- physical abuse
- sexual abuse
- emotional abuse
- neglect
You can apply for Scotland’s Redress Scheme if you were abused as a child (when you were 17 years old or younger) before 1 December 2004 in Scotland and in a relevant care setting
There are 2 types of applications for Scotland’s Redress Scheme. You can apply for either:
- a fixed rate payment of £10,000, or
- an individually assessed payment of up to £100,000
Remedy Law have represented over 90 individuals in relation to the Lambeth Redress Scheme and Director, Charles Derham, has successfully obtained awards via the Jimmy Savile Scheme and also the States of Jersey Scheme.
