Christ’s Hospital School Convictions and investigations

Remedy Law are instructed by a number of former pupils of Christ’s Hospital School in relation to alleged offences spanning many decades.

Below is a comprehensive list of those who have been the subject of Police investigations and of whom are former staff of Christ’s Hospital.

  • Peter Burr – former boarding school teacher 

Conviction – Guilty (plea) – 9 charges of indecent assault against boys aged 11 to 14

Sentence – 6 years and 7 months imprisonment.

Date Period – 1969 and 1973

  • Gary Dobbieformer boarding school teacher and Chaplain

Conviction – Guilty (jury) – 9 charges of indecent assault on a male person, 3 charges of indecent assault, 2charges of indecency with a child and 1 charge of attempting to indecently assault a male person

Sentence – 12 years

Date Period – 1989 and 2001

  • James Husbandformer boarding school teacher

Conviction – Guilty (jury) – 1 charge of rape and 5charges of indecent assault against a female pupil

Sentence – 17 years

Date Period – 1990 and 1994

  • Ajaz Karim – former sports coach/teacher

Conviction – Guilty (jury) – 9 charges of indecent assault and 1 charge of attempting to indecently assault a woman

Sentence – 10 years

Date Period – 1985 and 1993

  • Roger Martinformer boarding school teacher 

Conviction – Guilty (jury) – 1 charge of indecent assault of a 10 year-old

Sentence – 4 years imprisonment.

Date Period 1976

  • Peter Webbformer boarding school teacher 

Conviction – Guilty (plea) – 11 charges of indecent assault on a male person and 3 charges of indecent assault on a boy 

Sentence – 5 1/2 half years imprisonment and an additional 12 months

Date Period – 1970’s to 1980’s
